Moon Area Band Parent Organization Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7:14pm.  The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The minutes from the October 2017 meeting have been posted.  Motion to accept the minutes was made by Sarah Schmitz and seconded by Carla Collier.

Treasurer’s Report, Vicki Hricz

The Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Vicki Hricz.  Motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Grace Cap and seconded by Shari Ruppel.

Band Director’s Comments, Mr. Nick Barthen

The marching band had a successful season. We grew visually and musically.

PIMBA - Placement didn’t come out the way we wanted but we grew incrementally throughout the season. The best run of the season was our performance at PIMBA Championships.

Concerts - Winter Instrumental Concert 12/20 @ 7pm

Orchestra Pics and Senior Note distribution - Thank you to Wendy Bloom for assisting

Trunk or Treat - Thank you to the parents who came and participated.

Senior Recognition Night/Dinner - Thank you to Grace Cap, Denise Wolf, and the rest of the committee for a wonderful night.

Pole Notes - Thank you to the volunteers who came out to remove the Senior Pole Notes

Army Band Concert - Thank you to the volunteers who passed out programs and checked tickets at the concert.

Executive Board Elections - Coming up in April - Need to think of people to shadow board members in preparation for next year. We are looking for a co-Treasurer. We already have people shadowing the President and Secretary.

Monthly schedule for Scrip Orders will be available on the website.

Next SCRIP order deadline is Dec 7 with a Dec 13 delivery.

December 8th - Annual Craft ‘n Sip will be happening again. Bring the wreath you’ve ordered from the greenery sale. Please RSVP and pay at the door.

January 6th - Banquet fundraiser for the alumni organization at Mario’s Italian Restaurant. Cost of the event is $30 members/ $35 non-members. Please pre-pay and make your reservation no later than Dec. 29.

Thanksgiving Bountiful Basket Raffel tickets - Due 11/21, Drawing 11/24

Pancake Breakfast/Cookie Walk - Tickets are due Thursday before the event. Please be on the lookout for a Sign-Up Genius for breakfast donations and a separate Sign-Up Genius to bake homemade cookies. We ask each baker to do 10 dozen cookies which can be split into 5 dozen each of 2 varieties if you prefer. Santa will be there. Student groups will provide the music. Students will be able to sign-up to work the event and earn money toward the Student Account.

Hoagie Sale - We will be trying to do a quick turnaround and have delivery set the same day as the Sarris order.

Greenery - delivers on 12/6 4-5:45pm @ MAHS Cafeteria
