Moon Area Band Parent Organization Meeting 

September 15, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. 

Dr. Weinstein from the Weinstein Chiropractic Clinic gave a presentation to the MABPO tonight called “Ergonomics for the Instrumental Music Family”.

The minutes from the August 2016 meeting have been posted. Motion to accept the minutes was made by Mr. DeNardo and seconded by Mrs. Hricz.

Treasurer’s Report, Joe DeNardo 

The Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Joe DeNardo. Motion to accept the Treasurer’s report was made by Mrs. Palmer and seconded by Mrs. Tessmer.

President’s Comments, Sherri Von Stein 

Thank you to the Audit Committee for performing the annual review of the records kept by our Treasurer, Mr. DeNardo.

Website – Orchestra students will be receiving letters with a secret code to use for setting up access to the website. Everyone else was given letters in June. When signing up please sign up as “Parent” or “Student”.

Thank You – Thank you to chaperones for games and competitions. We need more help especially for competitions. We need an extra driver to drive one of the trailers for competitions.

Thank You – Thank you for snack donations. Look on the Sign-Up Genius.

Thank You – Thank you to the Daughertys for the coordination of meals for the band and staff for competitions.

Bandstand – Setup tonight for tomorrow’s game. We need a griller and a fill-in helper. We now accept credit and debit cards.

Varsity Jacket & Band Note Distribution  - Band Notes and jackets will distributed at 8:45pm at the Middle School parking lot on 9/22. Thank you to the Pelkington's for hosting the painting and note repairing party.

Tour shirts – Sale of the shirts is first come, first serve. Order within the next week to have the best chance at your desired size.

PIMBA Championships – We need many volunteers to fill the approximately 12 committees. A show-ops assistant is still needed. Kappa Kappa Psi from Pitt is sending student volunteers to assist again this year.

Alumni – “Bandanas” - Cindy Bartus - Shop with Scrip Program – The program offers a wide array of gift cards for your purchase. To date the group has earned approximately $300 from this program. Buy cards for places that you shop anyway. Once you place an order, you will be given an online password. Online access will send you emails with special bonuses. For each gift card that you purchase through the program, the Alumni Association receives a percentage back. Gift cards can be ordered once a month. In the months that MABPO meetings are scheduled, card delivery will be the same day as the parent meeting. Other months will be coordinated by Mrs. Bartus with those who order. If interested, parents can register online and complete the order online. Payment must be made by check no matter if the order is online or on paper. The alumni group is also taking orders for alumni apparel. Please email with questions.

The “Bandanas” have offered to buy the meal for the band on PIMBA Championships day. They will also have a tent at the competition to assist the MABPO will selling items.

Uniforms/Gloves – Denise Wolf – Formal wear order should be delivered next week. A new order for compression shirts may be placed soon. Gloves will be available each week in the uniform room for $3/pair.

BOA – report time is 7am – The MABPO is providing lunch and the Kiski Band Parents are providing dinner. Tickets for all day are $23 at the door. We are selling all day tickets tonight for $20.

Next meeting is scheduled for Oct 20, 2016 @ 7PM. Closed Executive Board meeting @ 6PM to precede the Parent Meeting.
