SCHOLARSHIP
The Moon Area Band Parent Organization, Inc. is excited to announce its Annual Instrumental Music Scholarship Awards. Packets were emailed out to eligible Seniors and a paper copy of the packet was passed out to all seniors by Mr. Barthen. 
All application packets are due back by April 19th. You can email your completed packet to scholarship@moonband.org. Should you choose to mail in your completed packet, it must be postmarked by April 19th to be eligible for consideration. You can mail packets to the Scholarship Committee Attn: Melissa Wertz, 1490 Coraopolis Heights Rd. Moon Township, PA 15108. Karate Concessions Update
We are still in need of donations especially Hot Food Items. We have promised to provide concessions and last year hot foods were a huge success. Hot foods can be delivered Sat morning by 10am to the CCBC Dome or you can make arrangements to drop off Friday night by contacting Stephanie Haas at Woogitrae@gmail.com 

With the unknown of the stadium updates and its possible impact on our concessions program at football games, every general fund fundraiser becomes more important to help support the kids.

BAND DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS:  Mr. Nick Barthen
Congratulations to the MAHS Winter Guard!  The guard finished their season last Saturday at TRWEA Championships at Norwin High School.  The guard placed fifth in the Scholastic A classification.  Congrats on a great season!

SAVE THE DATE!  - We will be taking a voluntary FUN Trip to Cedar Point Amusement Park on Thursday, June 5. The cost will be around $85, which includes a coach bus and park admission. We will NOT perform at Cedar Point.

MABPO has once again committed to supplying concessions for the upcoming Region Karate Tournament held at the CCBC Dome on April 26th.  Please use the following links to sign up for donations. Last year hot foods were a big hit. We are also looking for a couple of volunteers to help out during the day from 12p-3pm. This is a great fundraiser for our group as all proceeds will go to the general fund.  Last year this was a huge success and a lot of fun.  If you have any questions please reach out to Stephanie Haas at woogitrae@gmail.com

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Scholarship Committee
This year, the band parents will again be awarding several scholarships to seniors in our organization. We are looking for three or four band parents who would be interested in helping on the scholarship committee. We welcome any band parent who has an underclassman in the program. If you are interested in helping on the scholarship committee, please email Melissa @ melissashupack@yahoo.com

FUNDRAINSING
We are starting a brand new sale for the band! See the flyer attached to the email.  We are partnering with JOCO growers to offer hanging baskets and planters that will arrive in time for Mother's Day! This fundraiser will go toward student accounts. See the profit breakdown in the information letter. As always if you have any questions email fundraising@moonband.org

Region 22 Tang Soo Do Tournament held at CCBC has given MABPO the opportunity to run concessions again for this year's tournament. Which will be held on Saturday April 26th. This is an all day event starting at 9 am.  This event is usually done and cleaned up around 4.  We will be looking for volunteers to help run the concession stand along with food donations.
