THANK YOU
The MABPO board wants to sincerely thank several band parents who took care of our trailers this summer, prepping them for the season. For those of you who may not know, the band parent organization purchased a brand new trailer this spring that is our new pit trailer. The old pit trailer was built out with shelving and storage to now function as the horn trailer. Thank you to Shawn Rosensteel for hours spent researching and communicating with the dealership to order our new trailer. Thank you to Shawn Rosensteel, Jay Patterson, Edgardo Schmitz, and DJ Foremsky for spending dozens upon dozens of hours designing, constructing, and installing storage on the refurbished horn trailer over the summer, getting it ready for this season and beyond! We appreciate you all and are grateful for your efforts and time.

Thank you also to everyone who helped in any way for band camp. Thank you first to the chaperones who spent part or all of their week at W & J taking care of the student needs, along with anything else that needed done throughout the week. Thank you to everyone who donated snacks and supplies for the week. The students were extremely grateful for everything throughout the week. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped Sunday at the high school to get the band on their way. Thank you to the parents who helped Friday at W and J to get us packed up and back to Moon. We could not do what we do without our parents/volunteers and we are sincerely grateful for each and every one of you.

BAND DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS:  Mr. Nick Barthen
PEP BAND AT PENN CENTER - Tuesday, August 13, 2024
The marching band has been requested to perform as a pep band at the Penn-Center  West office complex off of Campbells Run Road in Robinson Township on Tuesday, August 13.  Report time will be at 11:00AM at MAHS Student Entrance (we will take one MASD School Bus) and should return around 1:00PM.  Students will wear shorts and MAHS attire.  This is a volunteer performance.

BAND PICTURE DAY
Band Picture Day is Wednesday, August 14, from 8AM-10AM (before freshman orientation) at MAHS.

PRODUCTION DAY REHEARSAL - SATURDAY, AUGUST 17 - 8AM-4PM - MANDATORY!
We will be holding our mandatory production rehearsal on Saturday, 8/17 from 8AM-4PM.  We will be hosting our choreographer in order to finish the ballad.  This is a very important rehearsal.  Lunch will be from 11:30-12:15, student may leave campus at this time or pack a lunch and eat inside the high school.

GLOVES – Wind Students will need to purchase band gloves on Friday, August 23.  The cost of gloves is $4.00 a pair.  Students will be limited to purchase ONE (1) pair of gloves on August 23.  As soon as the new shipment arrives, students will be able to purchase additional pairs of gloves.  Gloves are on sale in the Uniform Room before every band event that requires uniforms.

PRESTO-ASSISTANT
The band is utilizing a NEW database management system, Presto-Assistant.  Every student/parent has an account set up.  You will receive a welcome email to the address this email has been sent to set up a PARENT Account.  DO NOT SET-UP YOUR STUDENT’S ACCOUNT, their information is already set-up into the system.  After you set up your parent account, you will be able to access the site at this web address: https://app.presto-assistant.com/
 
This site will be used for News, the band calendar, files and handouts for the year, student band financial account information, etc.  The calendar is updated frequently and can be synced to your Google/i-cal.   Your student's band account will be updated over the next few weeks.  Please be patient while we get the system up and running. 

EXCUSES FOR NOT ATTENDING REHEARSAL 
If a student must miss a rehearsal, an e-mail or written note from THE PARENT is required.  Microsoft Teams chats or student e-mails are not valid forms of excuses. 
  
MARCHING TUTORIAL VIDEOS 
Videos and Music Files are uploaded to the MS Student Teams.  Practice tracks to the competition music are also available, these can be slowed down to aid in practicing and memorizing their music.  ALL Music pertaining to the entire marching band season can be located on MS Teams.  Teaching Videos off the marching technique we use are also uploaded to this team.  If students are struggling, please have them utilize these tools.
