Chamber Music
Chamber music encompasses some of the greatest masterpieces of the Western tradition, yet is portable enough to be played anywhere. Chamber music performance plays an essential role in fulfilling the Moon Area’s goal of creating independent musicians. Unlike in a large ensemble, chamber musicians must be held highly accountable for their individual part assignments.
Moon Area High School is glad to have several chamber music ensembles. Chamber ensembles at Moon are extra curricular and meet after school. The groups are active both on campus and in the community. Recently the groups have performed at the Grand Opening for the Heinz History Center World War II Exhibit "Yes We Can"; various corporate celebrations as well as with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
Ensembles include:
Flute Choir
Chamber Brass
Trombone Ensemble
Saxophone Ensemble
