Football Itinerary - Due to capacity restrictions there will not be any chaperones allowed to accompany the band at football games.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – cutting and sewing
Calling anyone interested in helping cut fabric or sew- We are looking for volunteers to help in the process to create bell and instrument covers for the wind Instrument students in grades 5-12. If you can help cut fabric or have any sewing experience, please let us know. We will be trying to complete these in the next month or so. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can help. The September raffle is ongoing throughout the month. Winners will be determined by the 7 p.m. 3 digit Pennsylvania daily lottery number. Winners will be notified via phone call.
The candle fundraiser that is due to start this week will be postponed temporarily. We are still awaiting the delivery of the candle brochures. As soon as they arrive, an email will go out and the brochures will be available at the end of each practice. Sale dates and delivery date will be adjusted accordingly.

One way our organization strives to reach its financial goals is by seeking corporate partners. Are you a business owner? If you are interested in learning more about fundraising for your band student by working at Heinz Field, please contact Karen Pritchard at firstname.lastname@example.org. Currently there are no scheduled events to sign up for, but stay tuned for the upcoming football season.
If you are interested in raising money for your Band student by working at PNC Park this upcoming 2020 baseball season, watch for Grand Slam Training coming soon! This is a great opportunity to start filling those accounts in anticipation of next year’s trip or Band Camp. Most parents who participate pay nothing or very little for the Band Trips. If you have interest, please send an email to Cindy at email@example.com, with your contact information. Also, if you are a Veteran of PNC Park and plan to continue, please confirm with an email.

IN ADDITION students/parents are reminded to complete the COVID-19 Prescreen form before attending EVERY REHEARSAL! Students/staff who do not complete the form prior to rehearsal will need to do so with Mr. Barthen. Here is the LINK
Football Game Procedure and Performance Updates - NEW!
I sent an e-mail to Parents on 9.7 at 3:45PM detailing new procedures for the Varsity Football Games. This can be also found on the Skyward class page as well as the Marching Band TEAMS pages. Please read!
The rehearsal schedule will still be the same, Band #1 meeting on Tuesdays, and Band #2 on Thursday from 6pm-9pm.
Our performances have been modified, as soon as I know the details for the remaining performances, I will forward.
The first MAHS Football performance will be on Friday, September 11 with Band #1. An itinerary will be sent home.
The second MAHS Football performance will be on Friday, September 25 with Band #2. An itinerary will be sent home.
A performance on MAHS Campus is being planned for Saturday, September 26. Report time for students will be 3:00PM. This will include both Band #1 performers and Band #2 performers. Additional information will be distributed once plans are solidified later in the week.
If your student is going to be absent from a marching band rehearsal, please communicate with either Mr. Barthen (winds/guard) or Mr. Fear (pit/battery percussion). This will aid us in planning and structure of rehearsal. Our e-mail addresses can be found at the bottom of this document.

Per the updated MASD policy, Clearances are valid for 5 years
Under PA Law Act 153, The State of Pennsylvania is requiring all adults who volunteer in any capacity within the school to obtain background checks. This will include parents who volunteer to chaperone the MAHS Marching Band at football games, parades, band camps, and trips. Chaperones are required to complete the PA State Police Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints. The FBI Fingerprint is only if the volunteer has not been a state of PA resident for at least 10 years. Please visit http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov for additional information.

3. After the record check is complete, click on the blue control number
4. To view the certificate, click on the blue words "Certification Form"
5. Print the certificate and submit to the MABPO Secretary
FBI Fingerprinting click HERE
1. Cost: $27.50
2. Required for volunteers who have lived outside of PA in the last 10 years
3. Register on website
4. Take form to Cogent Fingerprinting location
5. Receive clearance and contact MABPO Secretary to arrange for original to be copied.
