Mark your calendars! Moon Band's second annual Mattress Sale will be held on Sunday, May 3, in the high school auxiliary gym. Student worker sign-ups will be posted in the band room in April.
Sarris candy and NewMe’s pie fundraisers will still have delivery on April 2nd, beginning at 4:00 PM, but the location has changed to 816 Balmoral Court. Please pick up as soon as possible that day. Pies arrive frozen and will be stored in my garage. I have no way to keep them in a freezer.

Anyone interested in raising money for their Band student by working for Aramark at Heinz Field MUST let me know BY MAY 11TH. All paperwork will be sent out to you to be completed digitally. There will be 2 summer concerts this year: Kenny Chesney on May 30th and The Rolling Stones. These are usually good events to work because the payouts are higher and the workload tends to be lighter. This would be a great way to pay for the upcoming Away Band Camp without having to spend any of your own money! If you are interested in raising money for your Band student by working at PNC Park this upcoming 2020 baseball season, watch for Grand Slam Training coming soon! This is a great opportunity to start filling those accounts in anticipation of next year’s trip or Band Camp. Most parents who participate pay nothing or very little for the Band Trips. If you have interest, please send an email to email@example.com, with your contact information. Also, if you are a Veteran of PNC Park and plan to continue, please confirm with an email.

PROPOSED BYLAW CHANGE
An amendment to the bylaws was presented at the February MABPO meeting. The amendment proposes to add the position of Vice President. The amendment is posted HERE and will be voted on at the next regular scheduled meeting. The March meeting has been postponed until further notice.
Beginning in February, the Nominations Committee will be accepting nominations for the 2020/2021 Executive Board Committee. If you are interested in running for a position in April, please send your name and desired position to email@example.com before the end of March. The Nominations Committee will prepare a slate of candidates. The Executive Board Committee includes the following positions:
VP of Communications
VP of Concessions
VP of Corporate Partnership
VP of Fundraising
VP of Publicity
The Nominations Committee should consist of 3-5 volunteers.

SENIOR MEMORY BOOKS
If you are interested in helping with the senior memory books that are presented at the band banquet, please contact email@example.com.
Senior parents, please send 8 to 10 childhood/baby photos of your child to us for the year-end video and memory book. The best and most efficient way to provide your photos is to scan your photos and:
1) Put the digital copies of the photos you’d like to use in a folder on your computer labeled with your student’s name.
2) Right click on the folder.
3) Send to Compressed (zipped) folder. Note: Current message size limit for our email is 20 MB, so you will need to send multiple emails if your files exceed that.
4) The result should be “Student name.zip”.
5) Email the “Student name.zip” folder to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We ask that you please provide photos of your child no later than April 12, 2020 to ensure ample time for their inclusion in year-end materials.

Under PA Law Act 153, The State of Pennsylvania is requiring all adults who volunteer in any capacity within the school to obtain background checks. This will include parents who volunteer to chaperone the MAHS Marching Band at football games, parades, band camps, and trips. Chaperones are required to complete the PA State Police Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints. The FBI Fingerprint is only if the volunteer has not been a state of PA resident for at least 10 years. Please visit http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov for additional information.

2. Required for volunteers who have lived outside of PA in the last 10 years
3. Register on website
4. Take form to Cogent Fingerprinting location
5. Receive clearance and contact MABPO Secretary to arrange for original to be copied.
