SENIOR POLE NOTES
REMINDER: The senior pole notes currently hanging along Tiger Trail will be taken down as soon as football is over. If you haven't already done so, you may purchase yours for $17.00. Please indicate on your check and/envelope that it is for the senior pole note and place your payment in the band room mailbox. Questions? Contact Andrea Ward at email@example.com.
After considering many factors we are NOT opening the concession stand in Friday November 29. Thank you to all who volunteered!
The Bandstand concession stand is in need of managers for the 2020 marching band season. Anyone interested should contact Ginny Kotok or Heidi Anderson. firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be happy to help you learn the ropes!!
The Black Friday Bountiful Basket Gift Card Raffle ticket stubs and payments are due on Tuesday, November 26. The winning ticket is based on the 7:00 pm, PA Daily Number drawing on Friday, November 29, 2019. Tickets stubs and payments must be submitted by Tuesday, in order for the winning ticket to be valid. The Pancake Breakfast and Cookie Walk is on Sunday, December 15, from 8 AM - noon. As a bonus, students will earn $2.00 for their student accounts per ticket sold. Payments must be received by Thursday, December 12, in order to receive this bonus. This is our most popular fundraiser and community event, but we need parent and student help to make it successful. Please see the 2 sign-ups (here) to volunteer your time and to donate items and COOKIES! Students, please look for volunteer sign-up sheets that will be posted in the band room after the Thanksgiving break. Students will also earn money for their student accounts when they work a shift.

The Moon Area Band Alumni Association's membership drive has been extended through the end of November - there have been several parents who have expressed an interest, but have yet to enroll. You know who you are! Please take the time to enroll and join this great extension of the MABPO!

The next event to work at Heinz Field will be a Steelers game on Sunday, December 15th with a 9:30 AM report time. If you’d like to work this game or get more information about earning money through Aramark Fundraising, please contact Heather Park at firstname.lastname@example.org. I am also in need of someone to take over the job of Coordinating the Heinz Field Volunteers. It’s a job that can be done completely on your own time. It’s a good way to get involved in the Band Parent Organization. Please reach out to me to find out more!
Student accounts have been updated to include the October 28th Aramark event and VAB trip payments for those using student account funds. Moon Band Parent Organization has a private Facebook group where events are posted. It is a closed group and you can request access to “Moon Area Band Parent Organization”. You will be prompted to identify your moon band student and the year they graduate.

Symphonic Band & Percussionist who perform with Symphonic Band - Tux/Gown, dress shoes, socks. Minimum jewelry, hair pulled out of face.
Concert Band & Percussionist who perform with Concert Band - Dress clothes
Men: Dress Shirt & Tie - Colorful shirts, white O.K. as well. Black, Gray, or Blue Pants, (NO KAHKI'S) Matching socks, shoes, belt.
Ladies: Skirt, Pants, Dress, etc. Be mindful of the length of the dress, students cannot cross their legs while performing, Blouse, etc, dress shoes, Minimum Jewelry, hair pulled out of face.

SPRING 2020 BAND TRIP – 3rd Payment due January 30
The marching band will be traveling to Virginia Beach in April of 2020 to perform. Numerous fundraisers are available to off-set the costs of this trip. Please start now in order to alleviate some of the financial burden of this trip. Forms will be distributed Tuesday, October 8 after evening rehearsal explaining the payment process and the Commitment Form. Forms are due, October 17 and the first payment is due October 24. PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION! The forms will also be posted to Skyward and moonband.org.

Payments can be turned into the MABPO Box located in the band room.

MAHS BAND INCLEMENT POLICY
If case of Inclement Weather, and MASD calls one of the scenarios below, this will be the response that the MAHS Band will follow regarding Band Rehearsals before and after school.
- 2-Hour Delay - After School/Evening rehearsals will still occur. Morning (before school) rehearsals will be canceled.
- School Day Cancellation - All after school and evening rehearsals are canceled.
- Evening Activities Cancellation - All after school and evening rehearsals are canceled.
Please note: In our ever changing weather in western PA, there may be a sudden burst of snow minutes before rehearsal begins, use your best judgment and communicate with Mr. Barthen. It is better to miss a portion of rehearsal to wait while the roads are treated than miss the entire rehearsal.

Under PA Law Act 153, The State of Pennsylvania is requiring all adults who volunteer in any capacity within the school to obtain background checks. This will include parents who volunteer to chaperone the MAHS Marching Band at football games, parades, band camps, and trips. Chaperones are required to complete the PA State Police Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints. The FBI Fingerprint is only if the volunteer has not been a state of PA resident for at least 10 years. Please visit http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov for additional information.
