SENIOR POLE NOTES
REMINDER: The senior pole notes currently hanging along Tiger Trail will be taken down as soon as football is over. If you haven't already done so, you may purchase yours for $17.00. ***Distribution for the NewMe's Pies and Chestnut Candle fundraisers pick-up is this Thursday, November 21, from 4-5:30 in the high school cafeteria. Please be prompt. We have no way to store pies.***
The Black Friday Bountiful Basket Gift Card Raffle tickets and information sheets have been mailed. This is a mandatory fundraiser that benefits the Band's General Fund. All Band students benefit from the General Fund. Ticket stubs and payments are due on Tuesday, November 26. The winning ticket is based on the 7:00 pm, PA Daily Number drawing on Friday, November 29, 2019. Information can be found HERE.

Tickets for the Pancake Breakfast and Cookie Walk were mailed this week. The Breakfast is on Sunday, December 15, from 8 AM - noon. As a bonus, students will earn $2.00 for their student accounts per ticket sold. Payments must be received by Thursday, December 12, in order to receive this bonus. This is our most popular fundraiser and community event, but we need parent and student help to make it successful. Please see the 2 sign-ups (here) to volunteer your time and to donate items and COOKIES! Students, please look for volunteer sign-up sheets that will be posted in the band room after the Thanksgiving break. Students will also earn money for their student accounts when they work a shift.

The Moon Area Band Alumni Association's membership drive has been extended through the end of November - there have been several parents who have expressed an interest, but have yet to enroll. You know who you are! Please take the time to enroll and join this great extension of the MABPO!

The next events to work at Heinz Field will be a Pitt game on Saturday, November 30th with a report time TBD and a Steelers game on Sunday, December 1st with a 1:00 report time. If you’d like to work these games or get more information about earning money through Aramark Fundraising, please contact Heather Park at email@example.com. I am also in need of someone to take over the job of Coordinating the Heinz Field Volunteers. It’s a job that can be done completely on your own time. It’s a good way to get involved in the Band Parent Organization. Please reach out to me to find out more!
Student accounts have been updated to include the October 28th Aramark event and VAB trip payments for those using student account funds. For the upcoming payments, please let me know in writing if you would like them deducted from your account. Moon Band Parent Organization has a private Facebook group where events are posted. It is a closed group and you can request access to “Moon Area Band Parent Organization”. You will be prompted to identify your moon band student and the year they graduate.

SPRING 2020 BAND TRIP - 2nd Payment due November 20!!
The marching band will be traveling to Virginia Beach in April of 2020 to perform. Numerous fundraisers are available to off-set the costs of this trip. Please start now in order to alleviate some of the financial burden of this trip. Forms will be distributed Tuesday, October 8 after evening rehearsal explaining the payment process and the Commitment Form. Forms are due, October 17 and the first payment is due October 24. PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION! The forms will also be posted to Skyward and moonband.org.

Under PA Law Act 153, The State of Pennsylvania is requiring all adults who volunteer in any capacity within the school to obtain background checks. This will include parents who volunteer to chaperone the MAHS Marching Band at football games, parades, band camps, and trips. Chaperones are required to complete the PA State Police Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints. The FBI Fingerprint is only if the volunteer has not been a state of PA resident for at least 10 years. Please visit http://www.keepkidssafe.pa.gov for additional information.

2. Required for volunteers who have lived outside of PA in the last 10 years
3. Register on website
4. Take form to Cogent Fingerprinting location
5. Receive clearance and contact MABPO Secretary to arrange for original to be copied.
