We need your help! If you have any questions, contact Andrea @

We also need baked goods for the bake sale.  Please, see the sign-up genius for this as well.

If you have not yet picked up your senior recognition photos they will be available for pickup at the band parent meeting on October 10th.  See Wendy Bloom.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers who helped with the Bandstand Friday night! We couldn't have done it without you!
We would also like the thank Shari and Paul Ruppel and whomever else helped with setting up the Bandstand Thursday night. This was a huge help!!
Our last home game is Friday, October 11. It is Youth Night, fall weather and more importantly- our football is doing AWESOME!!
It will be  a BUSY night and we need all the help we can get!
Remember how cold you were sitting in the stands cheering on our Tigers on October 4? We were toasty and warm cheering them on in the Bandstand.  The Bandstand is WARM AND DRY! :)
Please click on the links below to sign up. Thank you!!

PIMBA CONCESSIONS- A Sign up Genius for the entire PIMBA event has been created and distributed via email last week.   There is NOT an individual Concession Stand Sign up Genius for PIMBA.
Please sign up and help with the concession stand for PIMBA. Heidi and I are working on creating shifts for this event. When our band performs, we will close the stand temporarily to go and watch the show.

Heidi and I are also looking for a few brave men/women to take over managing the concession stand for the 2020 football season. If you are interested and want to shadow us or discuss it with us, please contact us. Ideally the stand should be managed by at least two people.

The NewMe's Pies sale is underway!  These delicious pies, tarts, and potpies are available in a variety of flavors.  Delivery on November 21 will be just in time for Thanksgiving!  Pies arrive frozen and can be stored in your freezer to enjoy during the holidays and throughout the winter.  Order forms and information sheets are available in the band room or HERE.  Orders and payments are due on October 15.
Our School Spirit Creative Coffees fundraiser begins on Tuesday, October 8.  Items include coffees, teas, hot chocolate, rubs.  Items arrive in packages with 'Moon Band' on the label so they make great hostess and grandparent gifts as well as stocking stuffers!
Instructions, brochures, order forms, and master order forms (5 pages total) can be found in the band room or HERE.  Orders are due on October 29.  Delivery will be on December 5.

The Moon Area Band Alumni Association's membership drive is happening now through mid-October 2019.  Let us hear from you!  Tell your former band parents and graduated band members!  Click HERE to join or renew your membership!  We are looking forward to a fun year ahead!
Don’t forget Scrip gift cards will be delivered at the Band Parent meeting on Thursday, October 10th.

The next 2 events to work at Heinz Field are a Pitt game on Saturday, October 26th with a report time TBD and a Steelers game on Monday, October 28th with a 4:30 report time.  If you’d like to work these games or get more information about earning money through Aramark Fundraising, please contact Heather Park at I am also in need of someone to take over the job of Coordinating the Heinz Field Volunteers. It’s a job that can be done completely on your own time. It’s a good way to get involved in the Band Parent Organization. Please reach out to me to find out more!

Senior Pole notes have been hung along Tiger Trail for the football season. We encourage senior families to purchase their child's pole note to keep as a memento (many use them as a decoration for grad parties). Notes are $17.

TRUNK OR TREAT takes place this year on Tuesday, October 29th at 7:30 pm. Kids show up to practice in your costume (no masks or head covering that will prevent you from seeing in all directions). Parents, decorate your car and hand out treats to the band kids! Let's keep this tradition going. The kids really enjoy it and they're only kids for so long!

Student accounts have been updated to include Aramark events through September 24th and the J&J Hoagie sale. Thank you!

The Formal Wear pickup will be on Thursday, October 10th from 5:00-6:00. All clothing items must be tried on before they can be taken home. If you'd like your items hemmed, please bring the fee of $15 for tux pants or $20 for dresses. Contact Heather Park at with any questions.

MABPO is trying something a little different this year.  To purchase apparel, click HERE.  There is a great assortment of items to show your Moon Area Band pride.   Also, car decal order forms can be found HERE

Please remember in order to volunteer with anything other than concessions we must have your clearances on file. We’d love to have you and although they may not say it, your student does like to see you involved. Child abuse clearance and Criminal background check is needed for every volunteer, and if you have lived in PA less than 10 years a FBI Fingerprint clearance is also required (this one takes a while to get). Clearances are good for 5 years. Please send copies of your clearances in an envelope into the band room mailbox with your student or email them to Shea Corsetti at

Moon Band Parent Organization has a private Facebook group where events are posted.  It is a closed group and you can request access to “Moon Area Band Parent Organization”.  You will be prompted to identify your moon band student and the year they graduate.
As a reminder, please do not post videos on social media where the general public can view them.  This is especially important as we begin the season.

Woodland Hills Football Game – 10/19 – Busing has been secured for the Varsity Football game vs. Woodland Hills.  A voluntary pep band will be taken to the Football Game.  Sign-ups will be in the band room.  We need at least 15-20 students to volunteer to participate in this event.  We will play from the stands during the game and at halftime.  Please see Mr. Barthen for details.

WPIAL Football Play-offs – The football team is trending toward making the WPIAL play-offs.  The full band will travel in support of the team. Games will be Friday during the WPIAL play-offs.  These will be graded events.  Plans will be forwarded as soon as they are known.  The band will rehearse once a week (Tue. or Thu.) from 6pm-7:15pm while the team is in the play-offs.

Halloween Parade at Moon Park 10/23 - Moon Twp. Park & Rec. is holding a Halloween event on Wednesday, 10/23.  This is a voluntary event, but we need to have at least 20-30 students attend.  Students should arrive at Moon Park at 4:00 PM at the Amphitheater, and activities will conclude at 6:30PM.  Students are encouraged to dress in costume, we will be marching a mini-parade using fight song, stand cheers, etc.

IMPORTANT – Hoodies at Rehearsals – As the weather begins to turn colder, please make sure students are bringing appropriate clothing to rehearsal.  Students are not permitted to wear the hood part of a hoodie or ski masks during rehearsal.  The hood and/or ski mask impair peripheral vision and is a safety issue.  Students are encouraged to wear hats, tassel hats, beanies etc.

TRUNK OR TREAT – 10/29 – This has become a tradition to decorate parent’s vehicles and pass out candy to the kid’s ala trick-or treating around the neighborhoods/cars.  Students will dress-up for rehearsal, and trunk-or treat.  This will begin around 7:30pm.  Check for additional details and pictures from previous years events.  To make candy plans, we have 120 students in the marching band!
