BOA – Thank You
A HUGE Thank You goes out to those of you who assembled props, chaperoned, helped as truck/equipment crew, bus driver shuttle driver (Sarah Schmitz), medical persons (Tonya Howell and Corinne Conti), and made uniform repairs into the wee hours of the morning after the football game (Maria Sacherich)! There is absolutely no way the kids could have participated and done as incredibly well as they did without every single one of you! It was a very long and oppressively hot, but fun, day and you all were eager to help in any way, were quick with a joke just when someone needed one, and most importantly, were wonderful to all of our kids!
I encourage more people to participate in these roles in the coming years. The time spent with these kids and their parents create memories that last a lifetime. Band parents, you rock!!!

PIMBA – HELP NEEDED
Be on the lookout for information and sign-ups for ways you can support and volunteer gor our upcoming PIMBA competition on Saturday, October 12th. We will need cookie bakers, concession stand workers, parking attendants, band chaperones, people to sell programs and 50/50 raffles, in addition to chaperones for our own band. Please consider helping in some way. If every family participates in some way, the task of hosting should br easy and fun. Please note that when Moon Band takes the field at the end of the competition, we shut down so that our parent volunteers can watch them. Please help if you can.

PIMBA – CANDY GRAMS
Pre-Order a Candy Gram for your favorite marching band and colorguard member!  A thoughtful way to send appreciation for a job well done!
Forms are due October 4, 2019.
Forms can be dropped in the band room mailbox or mailed.

SENIOR RECOGNITION PHOTOS
If you have not yet picked up your senior recognition photos they will be available for pickup at the band parent meeting on October 10th.  See Wendy Bloom.

THURSDAY OCTOBER 3 SET UP
FRIDAY OCTOBER 4 BAND STAND SET UP

Heid and Ginny are in search of people to manage the concession stand next season.
Ideally two people should co-manage the stand.  Interested people should contact them at
concessions@moonband.org to discuss the responsibilities and to shadow us for the last three events.

HEINZ FIELD
The next event to work at Heinz Field will be a Steelers game on Sunday, October 6th. The report time is 9:30 AM.  If you’d like to work this game or get more information about earning money through Aramark Fundraising, please contact Heather Park at hburakow@yahoo.com. I am also in need of someone to take over the job of Coordinating the Heinz Field Volunteers. It’s a job that can be done completely on your own time. It’s a good way to get involved in the Band Parent Organization. Please reach out to me to find out more!

SENIOR POLE NOTES
Senior Pole notes have been hung along Tiger Trail for the football season. We encourage senior families to purchase their child's pole note to keep as a memento (many use them as a decoration for grad parties). Notes are $17.

CLEARANCES
Please remember in order to volunteer with anything other than concessions we must have your clearances on file. We’d love to have you and although they may not say it, your student does like to see you involved. Child abuse clearance and Criminal background check is needed for every volunteer, and if you have lived in PA less than 10 years a FBI Fingerprint clearance is also required (this one takes a while to get). Clearances are good for 5 years. Please send copies of your clearances in an envelope into the band room mailbox with your student or email them to Shea Corsetti at secretary@moonband.org.

COMMUNICATIONS
Moon Band Parent Organization has a private Facebook group where events are posted.  It is a closed group and you can request access to “Moon Area Band Parent Organization”.  You will be prompted to identify your moon band student and the year they graduate.
As a reminder, please do not post videos on social media where the general public can view them.  This is especially important as we begin the season.

Bands Of America Competition at Fortress Obetz, Ohio - September 28
I would like to take this opportunity to offer a HUGE Thank You to all of the chaperones, truck crew, and medical volunteers that helped the band last Saturday at BOA - Columbus.  The performers performed two outstanding shows in spite of the heat, humidity, length of day, and demands of performing two physical shows.  The performers hard-work, dedication and perseverance paid off last Saturday,  now onto PIMBA!

Parents - We could not have done it without you!  THANKS!!!
