Treasure’s Report, Vicki Hricz

No Treasurer’s report given, it is too early in the month.

Band Director, Nick Barthen

Thank you for a great marching band season and PIMBA championship event. It couldn’t have been done without your help. We received lots of positive feedback from everyone.

This was the first year in Barthen’s 16 years that the kids have finished a show. It was a great season and something to build upon.

Now starts the indoor season!

  • December 11th rehearsal concert band 6-7:30pm, symphonic 7:30-9:15pm.
  • December 17th rehearsal concert band 6-7:30pm, symphonic 7:30-9:15pm.
  • December 20th Concert and Symphonic Band winter concert.
  • *Concert band dress up clothes. Be aware of skirt hem lines, they are sitting up above the lower level of the audience. Symphonic band wears their formal wear.
  • December 18th Choir concert
  • December 19th Orchestra concert

We have a few fun side things coming up.

The brass quintet will be at Light Up Night on November 29th.

The flute and brass quartets will play at our Pancake Breakfast on December 9th.

Symphonic is not where they need to be, there will be a play test on Monday for them.

Concert band periods 1 and 5 are not where they need to be, they will be tested this Friday.

Symphonic has most to their music, Concert band has all of their music. You should be hearing them practice.

Jazz band auditions are coming up the third week of December, possibly the 13th after school. Music will be available November 19th. Everyone who auditions makes it, the addition is to see which Jazz band you will be placed in.

There is a Winterguard meeting Monday, November 19th @ 7pm.

There will be no pit orchestra in this year’s school musical. There is no wind or strings for Mama Mia.

Honors Jaz auditions are Monday November 12th.

Nothing happening in January or February.

March is Music in Our Schools and will be a great night.

President, Andrea Ward

Thank you a million times for all of your help with PIMBA and for being flexible due to weather. Things were unknown for a while but came together pretty well considering and overall was a nice event. If you have any constructive feedback regarding championships please let Andrea know.

We are hosting a play-off game this Friday and need concession stand workers. It is not our football game, we will not miss our band’s performance, but we will have an opportunity to raise some money for our band with concessions. Please sign up on the sign up genius, we need your help.

The finalization of band and orchestra will be happening soon. They have established their own parent organization and will have a board soon.
