Moon Area Band Parent Organization Meeting
October 19, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:02pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
After the Pledge of Allegiance, the MABPO welcomed representatives from Weinstein Chiropractic who spoke to the group about nutrition.
The minutes from the September 2017 meeting have been posted. Motion to accept the minutes was made by Shari Ruppel and seconded by Cindy Stathers.
Treasurer’s Report, Vicki Hricz
The Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Vicki Hricz. Motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report was made by Denise Wolf and seconded by Mike Connors.
Band Director’s Comments, Mr. Nick Barthen
Not available due to practice for PIMBA Championships.
Strings Director Comments, Mrs. Megan Martz

President’s Comments, Sherri Von Stein
Thank you to the many volunteers who participated in any capacity at our home PIMBA show.
Thank you to the Pelkingtons for hosting the note painting party.
Chaperones are needed for tomorrow night’s football game as well as PIMBA Championships on Saturday.
Upcoming dates of importance:
10/23 Orchestra pictures and Senior note distribution
10/24 No practice
10/25 Parade in Moon Park 3:30pm-6:30pm - students should dress in costume
10/26 Practice followed by Trunk or Treat (starts at 7pm)
10/27 Senior Rec - Senior Parents should report between 4:45pm-5:15pm to register and have pictures taken by Mr. Tuk. Parents of underclassmen are asked to sign-up to help on Senior Rec night since the Senior Parents cannot help. Help is needed in the concession stand and band chaperones are also needed. Please consider making a pan of cheesy potatoes for the Senior Rec dinner. A recipe will be provided on the Sign-Up Genius.
10/27 Florida commitment form and first payment due
11/2 Army Field Band and Soldiers Chorus at MAHS Auditorium
11/13 District 1 Jazz Band tryouts - We will run a concession.
The following will be for sale after the meeting: umbrellas $15, tour shirts $15, PIMBA programs $6, novelty buttons $2 each or 3 for $5.

Alumni Association, Cindy Bartus
Monthly schedule for Scrip Orders will be available on the website.
Buy gift cards for places that you go anyway. Orders are due the Friday before the Parent Meeting. Next order is due November 10th. If you are ordering for the Bountiful Basket please tell Cindy Bartus and she will get the gift card to Georganna Palmer.
Membership drive is going on now. Graduates and parents of graduates are eligible to join.
December 8th - Annual Craft ‘n Sip will be happening again. Bring the wreath you’ve ordered from the greenery sale.
January 6th - Banquet fundraiser for the alumni organization at Mario’s Italian Restaurant. Cost of the event is $30 members/ $35 non-members.
