Trip refunds should be in all student accounts now. The banquet refunds are coming soon.
Band Director, Nick Barthen
- We’re on 6th plan for band camp now. Thanks, parents, for your patience.
- The show they started before COVID will hopefully be performed next year.
- BOA and PIMBA are cancelled.
- Seniors voted on what show they wanted to do this year. “Boy Band” won.
- Band has been divided in half for distancing. Unless we hear otherwise, band 1 and band 2 will take turns going to football games.
- Email will be main line of communication for parents. Sign up for the Remind group! Communication with kids is through TEAMS.
- Schedule changes will be communicated 2 hours in advance.
- PIMBA festival possibly happening – date not yet known. It would be simulcast.
- Wants kids to perform as much as possible.
- Music education will now begin in 5th grade, not 4th grade as it has been in the past.

- Please get forms turned in.
- Fair Share program – new this year. It costs $33,000 per year to run the band. General fund pays for staff/drill writer/music writer/techs, etc
- Kiski, Norwin charge $600-700 to participate in the marching band
- Our Fair Share: $75 for first student, $65 for each additional student in family
- Fair Share doesn’t cover whole band budget. MASD also supports the band.
- We need a new band trailer. This will cost ~ $18,000
- Mr. B and staff will do everything they can to make this safe and enjoyable.
- Next Friday (8/2/2020) – run through of both band 1 and band 2 will be recorded and we can view it the next day (in place of parent program that usually takes place on the Friday afternoon at W&J)
- Check TEAMS for videos if you need help with marching, music, color guard

- Georganna wants input on whether we should sell hoagies
- Meetings are every third Thursday of the month
